Face rolling. Why you will love it forever.

Look, I get it. Face rollers have been a star Instagram for a while now and some might think are old news.

It is true I had heard of face rollers for some time, and I had not tried one until I found myself in a little beautiful shop in San Francisco's Chinatown called Kim + Ono ( www.kimandono.com , @Kimandono_ check them out, they are amazing...but a story for another time). Their selection of face rollers was so cute... I fell in love with a deep green jade face roller.

They aren't miracle workers, but it is certainly a fabulous addition to my (and soon-to-be-your) skincare routine.

So a little bit of story, Jade facial rollers have been used to massage the skin since the 17th century in China, and were once used by the elite to keep skin beautiful and women ageless.  Known as the “Stone of Heaven”, jade is a cool , soft useful little stone.

Rollers can be made from jade, but also rose quartz or another crystal, and are to be used to gently massage the face.

The coolness of the stone and the massage stimulates the lymphatic system to get rid of toxins, ease muscle tension, decrease puffiness and stimulate blood-flow to increase your skin’s glow.

So why do I love it? Simple. First, jade rollers just  feel good. It's a few relaxing minutes for myself. A treat to a short mini massage that makes me feel great. And they look good.

Although jade stone is naturally cool, you can keep it in the fridge or freezer for added effect.

Super simple to use: Apply a few drops of moisturizer, serum, or oil to your clean, dry face, then gently roll the jade up, down, and all across your skin until the product is absorbed.

For the cheeks and jaw area, use the large end of the roller, apply medium pressure and roll it from the chin to the ear. Up to 10 times each side.

Move on to the forehead area and repeat the same motion as in your chin, From the center to the ear, 10 times each side.

Moving to the eyes, and using the small end, roll from the inner eye towards to outer corner. Same method for the upper eye and brows. Move on to the external corner of the eye, and repeat also 10 times per eye where crows feet form.

Repeat if desired.

Overall  in my opinion I really recommend them They are inexpensive tools, they look great, feel better and improve the overall condition of the skin. As with everything, consistency is key.

For a striking look, my favorite is the Black onyx roller.

For a softer look, try our Rose Quartz
